Luke 12 10. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. Hebrews 6, 4 to 6. -For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, -And have tasted the good word of God, and the -powers of the world to come-, -If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Hebrews 10 29. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Acts 15 26. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; Ephesians 4 30. John 10, 17 to 18. -Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. -No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. -It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. John 20 29. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. ----------------- Unforgivable Sin. How do you recognize the unforgivable sin when you see it? What actions do you see taking place? The Holy Spirit has feelings. It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us; grieve not the Holy Spirit (Acts 15 26, Ephesians 4 30). Speaking a word against the Holy Spirit is Blasphemy and unforgivable. In this sense the Holy Spirit should be reverenced more than Jesus himself, because speaking a word against Jesus is forgivable (Matthew 16:31). Yet, speaking a word against the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin, upon condition that they have tasted the powers of the world to come, that is the heavenly gifts or the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 6:4-6). The reason why it is unforgiveable is because they have significantly hardened their hearts, by falling away and putting Jesus to open shame. So much so that God has given them over to their own reprobate mind. They have crucified the Son of God afresh. They could not initially come to Jesus, by their own power. Jesus willnot be resurrected again to renew them unto repentance. It would take nothing less than Jesus's literal crucifiction to win them back. Unbelievers cannot figuratively nor literally crucify Jesus again; only Christians or disciples can figuratively crucify him! If the world once knew you as a Christian, because you have tasted the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and now they know that you have turned your back against the risen lord, you have crucified him before them. If the world knows that you now speak against the Savior of the world, but you once tasted the heavenly gift, you have crucified Jesus all over again. John 20 29 tells us that the quality of ones blessing is greater, if one believes dispite the fact that he has not seen. (Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.) Blaspheme in Hebrews 6, 4 to 6 tells us that the quality of ones curse is greater, if he has seen or experienced the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and then undergoes a falling away, therefore attempting to crucify Jesus again in their hearts. The curse is worse because there is no forgiveness. How Did They Crucify Him? Crucifixion included two major parts: abuse by scourging and then nailing or tying to a tree. The intent was not to be pleasant or kind, but rather to be cruel and abusive unto death. According to Isaiah, they plucked out hairs from his beard. (Isaiah. 50 6.) They spat upon him. They hit him in the face; pushed a crown of thorns into his brow. John 19 34. They beat his back with a scourge until he was nearly dead, then forced him to carry his own cross. Jesus had his hands and feet nailed to a cross, transfixing him to it. The last cruel act was piercing his chest with a spear to make sure that he was dead. Out of his chest came forth blood and water. How do we crucify him afresh, a second time? We do not literally scourge him and nail him to a cross. What we do is far more subtle and polite. We would not dare be so bold as to publicly state our intentions. Most just quietly go about killing the lord of glory. Most do not tell their families that they hate Jesus or no longer believe in him. They just show by their actions that they have become calloused and unconcerned about the Gospel. It has little to no meaning to them. When we no longer worship, no longer remember his broken body, we crucify him afresh. When our affections revert to the world and its cares and riches, we have cried out, Crucify him! When we no longer study or pray, we have rejected him as the Savior of the world. Christ is going to Calvary again." All this after we know intimately the Holy Spirit. Why Do Some Crucify Jesus Again?. 1. They crucify Jesus for the same reasons that they did in the first century. Some like Judas are covetous and would betray their lord for a handful of coins. Others are unstable and uncommitted. 2. Some crucify the Lord of glory because they love this present world, and do not have faith in God. They care little for spiritual things and make light of such matters. 3. They crucify Jesus because they love the darkness of the world rather the light that Jesus brings into the world. They had rather have their little season of pleasure in sin rather than live a responsible life of maturity. 4. They had rather act like children than to live a life that reflects the image of God. Some men live with men; women with women. Others shack up without the commitment and sanctity of marriage. Jesus Will Not Die Willingly Again! John 10, 17 to 18. -Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. -No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. If Jesus did not want to lay down his life the first time, he would not have been crucified. He laid down his life willingly and freely for man's salvation. Hebrew 9 28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Jesus sacrifice was sufficient for all time, never to be repeated. His shameful death should never be repeated. If Jesus is crucified afresh, it is not for salvation. It is not for atonement. Jesus does not lay down his life willingly again. If we crucify Jesus before the eyes of the world by our rejection of him, we do so without his consent. Salvation will not result from it, but rather a severe judgment, particularly if we have experienced the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 10, 26, 29 to 31. -For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, . -Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? -For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. -It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. What we do is condemn ourselves and shame our Lord's name before an unbelieving world, despite the Spirit of grace.
